Weekend Bags
The perfect travel companion. What started out as a slightly eccentric experiment, turned into something quite special.
We turned to well-established artisan bag makers from the north of England to create prototypes of our take on a traditional ‘carpet bag’. This company shares our passion for British production and like us they strive to create luxury pieces with honesty and integrity. Originally intended as ‘one-off’ display pieces for our showrooms, we knew as soon as they arrived in the studio we had to commission more.

Each bag, bench and cushion has been made with skill and care by British craftspeople, many local to our own Herefordshire studios. We weave, sew and make in small quantities, often to order, to reduce waste and to give the production of each piece the time it deserves.
At Roger Oates Design, we believe that the beauty and craftsmanship of flatweave stretches far beyond the staircase.
